a) Human health, comfort, and productivity implications of building indoor environments, including the effects of light, sound, vibration, thermal environment, and air quality;
b) Improving the understanding of the dynamic relationships between buildings and their occupants, stakeholders, and design participants;
c) Integrated processes for improving delivery of ultra-high-performance buildings;
d) Improving the design, construction, operation and maintenance of grid-connected buildings and communities supported by renewable energy sources and by distributed energy networks;
e) Smart buildings embedded with sensors (Internet of Things and wearable technologies) and supported with artificial intelligence;
f) Building-technology frontiers for construction automation and future construction workforce and job-place safety;
g) Emerging building materials and processes through the adaptation and integration of advanced computational and/or experimental technologies.
Assistantships/Fellowships can begin as early as January 2019, with positions also available for August 2019. To receive full consideration, applications should be received by November 15th for January start and by January 1st for August. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until all positions are filled.
