The Laboratory for Translational, Experimental and Computational Cardiovascular Research at Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin is accepting applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. The successful applicant will investigate the contribution of local hemodynamic disturbances from aortic coarctation to chronic vascular remodeling. This work will involve experimental models of disease, processing of medical image data, creation of idealized and subject-specific computational models, and implementation of a computational growth and remodeling framework.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should be proficient in coding, demonstrate a track record of applying fluid and solid mechanics via CFD/FSI modeling, and have excellent writing and communication skills. Although interaction with clinical and engineering mentors will be frequent, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of independently directing the project. The initial duration of the position is one year with the possibility of an extension pending substantial research progress.
