Graduate Program

Mechanical engineering graduate students pursuing M.Eng., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees work with our accomplished faculty on high-impact research projects while gaining experience in specialized areas of interest.

Undergraduate Program

Our ABET-accredited undergraduate mechanical engineering program balances theoretical understanding of physical systems with practical experience in designing, implementing and testing engineering solutions. Students perform research, study specific engineering challenges and build specialization in focused areas of interest.

  • Engineering Clubs

    Undergraduate students can enhance their Vanderbilt experience by engaging in a variety of hands-on engineering activities in aerospace, alternative energy or motor sports through respective student clubs sponsored by the mechanical engineering department, outside industries and NASA. The Aerospace and Motorsports clubs participate at National Level Engineering Competitions. More information on the club activities and entry requirements can be found on their web sites.
