The Department of Engineering at Loyola University Maryland invites individuals committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching to join the department in a lecturer position (full-time non-tenure track faculty).  A master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. Applicants should feel comfortable teaching various mechanical and general engineering courses ranging from the introductory level (e.g., Statics and Dynamics) to the more advanced (e.g., Solid Mechanics and Mechanical Design). Candidates with expertise in mechanical systems, mechatronics, biomechanics, or design for sustainability are of particular interest.

The teaching load will be 4 courses per semester during the fall and spring with no required summer teaching. The candidate will assist the department in curricular development, review, and assessment; will advise undergraduate students; and contribute to Loyola University Maryland’s educational mission via service at the department, school, and university levels. There are no research requirements, though opportunities for collaboration with other faculty members on projects or research may present themselves. Teaching faculty are full members of the department.
