Tutors lead a team of about 25 students in competitions, workshops, college-prep seminars, field trips, and more. Plumber/Sprinkler Fitter Facilities Admin
UMass Boston is a major research university with highly specialized plumbing systems, including, de-ionized water, acid waste glass piping, acid neutralization systems, laboratory gas systems (including natural gas and nitrogen) and grease traps. The Plumber will repair and maintain water piping, soil waste and vent piping for all plumbing fixtures and appurtenances as per the plumbing codes for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the fire protection piping, safety equipment and grounds irrigation systems. Install and maintain fire protection systems piping and components for both wet and dry pipe systems. The incumbent will repair and maintain plumbing systems for all toilet rooms, locker rooms, laboratories, mechanical rooms, swimming pools, kitchens, distilled and de-mineralized water distribution systems, safety eye wash and deluge shower piping systems, as well as the underground sub-soil drainage, roof drainage, sewer, acid waste pipingand dilution basins and the campus water main distribution system.
Research Fellow SFE - Dean's Office
The Stone Living Lab (https://stonelivinglab.org/), a multi-institution partnership researching coastal defense in the face of sea level rise, seeks a data scientist to work with its scientists at UMass Boston to manage and create analytic outputs for multiple stakeholders. As the Stone Living Lab (SLL) pursues its scientific mission, the principal investigators (PIs) and students involved are generating a wealth of data in a wide variety of formats. In order to maximize the use of our data across multiple lab groups, we are seeking a data scientist to help us curate, manage, and make publicly accessible our data in a way that obeys FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse) best practices. We are seeking someone who will work with the PIs and associated researchers with the creation, organization, and maintenance of the SLL data management process as well as generation of public-facing products using this data.
Administrative Assistant (Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies) Women's Gender Sexuality Studi
The Financial and Department Administrator for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is responsible for maintaining the daily administrative and financial support functions for the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. The incumbent will interact daily with the full-time faculty, along with part-time/adjunct faculty, graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, and numerous undergraduate students and will provide them with direct administrative and financial support. They will monitor departmental finances and human resource needs for the WGS Majors as well as three Minors; will assist the Chair of the Department in the scheduling of class sections each regular academic semester; and will serve as the department property administrator, working with relevant University units to ensure the smooth on-boarding of new personnel. Incumbent will also supervise student employees and interns.
Phlebotomist Health Services
Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and other approved specimen collection procedures, process medical laboratory tests and document results for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Follow all CLIA requirements and regulations. Serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed. Associate Lecturers (English) English
The English Department at UMass Boston anticipates availability for non-tenure-track associate lecturers in English to teach up to four sections (12 credits) of first-year composition, to start in fall and occasionally spring semesters. Availability of courses depends on student enrollment and is not guaranteed beyond one semester. In addition to instruction, the successful candidates will be expected to follow standard departmental policies related to instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes.
Lecturer (Sports Leadership and Administration) Counseling & School Psychology
The Sport Leadership and Administration program at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer (one-year appointment) to join the Department of Counseling and School Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development, beginning Fall 2024. Responsibilities include: (1) teach undergraduate-level courses; (2) advise undergraduate students; (3) assist in the recruitment and selection of new students; and (4) provide service to university, college, and departmental committees, and to professional associations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Internship Coordinator for the Sport Leadership and Administration program. Typically, full-time Non-Tenure Track faculty teach 12-credits every fall and spring semester

The Manager of Banking Operations & Reconciliation reports to the Associate Controller Campus Banking and is an integral member of the Fiscal Operations team for the Boston Campus.  The Manager of Banking Operation & Reconciliation is responsible for overseeing the reconciliation of all Boston Campus treasury and cash operation accounts. This position manages a team responsible for the daily oversight of campus deposits, receipt of student payments, and currency management for the Boston Campus. This position also assists the Associate Controller in managing the PCI-DSS environment, compliance, and payment environment.
Sr Data Specialist (Institutional Research) Inst Res Assess & Planning
The Senior Data Specialist works in a team environment with one or more data specialists reporting to the Director of Institutional Research. The incumbent will contribute to campus-wide data-informed decision-making, in support of the implementation of the 10-year strategic plan, For The Times. The Senior Data Specialist is responsible for creating and managing large datasets, extracting information from them, and reporting data to a variety of internal and external audiences. The incumbent will be working in a SQL environment and will use Tableau to create data presentations. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting to the federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the State of Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees and President, and to guidebooks like the US News. The position requires interaction with many academic and administrative areas of the campus, and colleagues at other campuses, in the University of Massachusetts President’s Office and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow Biology
The Byrnes lab at UMass Boston (http://byrneslab.net) is seeking a postdoc to aid in completion of a NASA Funded project, “Using Hyperspectral Imagery to Assess the Effects of Warming on New England Kelp Forests”. The postdoc would begin at their earliest convenience as part of the team (Crystal Schaaf, Nima Pahlevan, Rodrigo Garcia, Marc Borrelli, Tom Bell, Bob Chen, Arthur Elmes). The postdoc will be to work with the project team to complete analysis and write up of data collected over two years of field campaigns consisting of data from Hyperspectral Drones, PRISMA and EnMap satellites, in situ drop camera data, in situ spectral data, side scan sonar, and diver collected data. The postdoc will also have opportunities to teach workshops, if they desire, and to collaborate with a deep learning team at the University of Zargoza. The position presents the opportunity for multiple novel and potentially high impact publications. The position is for one year with the team supportive of applying for future funding.

The Senior Director of Finance and Operations will play a pivotal role in the Finance/Advancement Services area within University Advancement. The Sr. Director of Finance and Operations will oversee the management of financial functions relating to gift reporting, endowments, procurement of goods and services and operations. The Sr. Director of Finance and Operations will work on special projects assigned by the Vice Chancellor and senior leadership team. Labor Relations Manager Human Resources
Reporting to the Executive Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Manager will have primary duties that include the resolution of grievances pertaining to collective bargaining agreements, employee concerns and potential disciplinary matters. The incumbent will administer human resources policies and procedures; and will provide support and guidance to managers and employees when employee discipline may be warranted. This position will participate in collective bargaining and impact bargaining with University Unions; and will provide guidance in the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and University policies and procedures. The position will be the first point of contact for various departments on labor relations issues.
