Current research interests: optimisation of small high-grade deposits with emphasis on evaluation, highly selective mining approaches, flexible processing options and ore control; charcterisation of gold ores by high-resolution X-ray computed tomography [HRXCT] and other methods to determine sampling and metallurgical parameters; sampling protocol optimisation/Theory of Sampling; geometallurgical characterisation (grade, metallurgical and geoevironmental); and implementation of strategic and tactical geometallurgy. At WASM Simon is working with Dr Louisa O'Connor on ore characterisation and geometallurgy as a value proposition.
