Expertise: Professor Kasimov's interests are in the analysis and numerical solution of partial differential equations describing such phenomena as: reacting flows, combustion and detonation waves. Also, shallow–water flows with hydraulic jumps, traffic flows and formation of jamitons, congestion phenomena in complex systems, and fluid flows interacting with elastic boundaries
