My engineering extension responsibilities are in the areas of grain and livestock systems. Livestock systems are a broad area covering environmental issues related to confined and non confined livestock production systems, nutrient management planning, beef feedlots, dairy cattle free stall housing, dairy cattle dry lot housing, heat abatement for dairy cattle, manure handling systems for dairies and beef feedlots, gravity sand separation and beef work facilities. Some additional work may include sheep and swine facilities. The areas of grain storage, drying, handling and facilities are emphasis in the grain systems. My responsibilities are currently divided between working with state agencies, commodity groups, allied industry, academia and individuals with the production agriculture community.
