The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Center for Advanced Manufacturing & Lean Systems in the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a Assistant Professor of Research position in the broad teaching and research area of manufacturing engineering, manufacturing processes, facilities planning & design as well as data analytics to be filled by September 2017. The position first carries a two-year term, with possible renewal/extension in future years.
The successful candidates are expected to have a moderate teaching load in the undergraduate and graduate manufacturing courses, allowing efforts to pursue externally-funded research, supervise graduate students, and communicate their research results in quality journals and at conferences. The ability to work collaboratively in research and teaching with other Department and Center faculty members within the University is highly desirable. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or in a related engineering field by the time of employment. The successful candidates are also expected to support and promote the industry consortium program the Center for Advanced Manufacturing & Lean Systems (camls.utsa.edu) already established at UTSA.
