The Department of ENGINEERING FUNDAMENTALS of the UNIVERSITY of LOUISVILLE is seeking candidates for a term faculty position at the assistant professor rank.

The Department of Engineering Fundamentals at the University of Louisville seeks candidates for a Term Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track) with a start date of August, 2017. Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline and a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline, outstanding communication skills, and a passion for making meaningful, positive contributions to the undergraduate educational experience. Moreover, because this position emphasizes teaching, the ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching a broad range of undergraduate, fundamental engineering courses. These subjects include but are not limited to the two course required sequence: engineering methods, tools and practice I and II, the calculus-based engineering analysis sequence, differential equations for engineers, linear algebra for engineers, numerical methods for engineers, and other fundamental courses common to all disciplines. Preference will be given to those who have experience teaching in these areas.

The J.B. Speed School of Engineering is home to eight departments, with an enrollment of approximately 2000 undergraduate students and 700 graduate students. The university has an approximate total enrollment of 22,000. Located between Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Nashville, Louisville is the state’s major metropolitan area with a population of approximately 750,000.
