Position Summary
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (SRU) invites applications for one full-time tenure-track faculty position in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the qualifications and expertise including industry and teaching experience.

Candidates must have a PhD in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, or MS in Industrial Engineering with ten or more years' industrial experience. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability or potential to become an excellent teacher in offering a variety of undergraduate courses. A strong candidate is expected to make a positive impact on a new industrial and systems engineering program, preparing students for a successful career in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and beyond.

The new faculty member will become part of a vibrant community committed to high-quality teaching and student success, play an important role in shaping the industrial and systems engineering curriculum, and contribute to the growth of engineering programs at SRU.

Teaching Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering courses to upper division major courses. Candidates are expected to apply effective pedagogy and project-based learning in their classroom instruction.

Other Responsibilities and Expectations: The successful candidate should be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, establish a productive research program that involves undergraduates, and actively participate in student advising and departmental/university service.

As a public comprehensive university and one of fourteen institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, SRU is a vibrant, student-centered community of learners and scholars. The university places a high value on the quality of the teaching and learning experience with over 150 undergraduate programs and tracks, 25 master's degree programs, and a doctoral program in physical therapy. The University is selective in admissions and enrolls almost 8000 undergraduate and 1200 graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, or MS in Industrial Engineering with ten or more years' industrial experience;
Observable dedication to excellence in undergraduate education;
Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching presentation.

Preferred Qualifications
BS in Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited institution;
Prior teaching experience at college level;
Industrial experience or experience in fostering close collaboration with industry;
Experience with ABET accreditation process.
