Two graduate research assistantship (GRA) opportunities are available for graduate students interested to pursue research in transportation engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), particularly in transportation safety (crash analysis related to guardrails and cable barriers). One Ph.D. student and one M.S. student are intended to be hired. Both students will be funded through a project sponsored by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Both students will work directly under the supervision of Dr. Kirolos Haleem.

The Ph.D. student candidate should hold a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.S. in civil engineering (with a transportation engineering focus) by the date of hire. The M.S. student candidate should hold a B.S. in civil engineering by the date of hire, and preferably acquires a transportation engineering coursework focus.
Interested applicants should prepare and email the following materials to Dr. Haleem (kmm0058@uah.edu) by May 1st, 2018 (make sure to indicate the position applied for in the email subject line):

1. Brief statement of interest (no more than one page);
2. Resume;
3. List of three references; and
4. GRE, plus TOEFL/IELTS scores (TOEFL/IELTS only required for international students).
