Visiting Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented individual who is passionate about teaching and is invested in the success of our students. If you would like to be a part of a professional, collaborative team devoted to making a significant and lasting impact on the lives of young engineers, the Dr. Carl D. and H. Jane Clay Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a one-year visiting faculty position to begin August 20, 2024.

Scope:

The appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal due to ongoing growth in the department.

Principal Responsibilities

This position will support our broad undergraduate mechanical engineering program. Expectations include teaching of introductory, college-wide courses as well as upper-level mechanical engineering courses.

Required Skills:

Candidates from any specialty area within or adjacent to mechanical engineering will be considered. The applicant must be committed to teaching excellence in undergraduate education and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expectations include teaching of introductory, college-wide courses as well as upper-level mechanical engineering courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

An advanced degree or a degree and substantial experience in Mechanical Engineering, adjacent fields such as Materials, Aerospace, Biomedical, Robotics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field such as Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering) is required.
