Work description

  • Survey the state of the art in emerging wireless networks, including their simulation using real data assimilation, machine learning, and digital twin approaches.
  • Collaborate in the writing of technical reports on communications protocols, algorithms, and mechanisms developed.
  • Develop new modules enabling the simulation and/or experimentation of emerging wireless networks.
  • Write publications in co-authorship within the scope of the work developed.
  • Write the final activity report of the grant.

 

Academic Qualifications

  • Student in Electrical Engineering or similar

 

Minimum profile required

  • Solid knowledge in TCP/IP stack and Linux.
  • Programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Proven research experience in telecommunications.
  • Proven experience in the application of Multimodal Large Language Models to optimize wireless networks.

 

Preference factors

  • Knowledge in Wireless Networks technologies.
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning.
  • Knowledge in discrete event-driven simulation.

 

Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

 

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
