Postdoctoral Position – Multiphase Fluid Dynamics in Cryogenic Flows
A postdoc position is available with a start date of the beginning of 2025 in the Computational and Theoretical Multiphysics Lab (https://web1.eng.famu.fsu.edu/~kshoele/CTML) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the FAMU-FSU joint College of Engineering with the collaboration with SLAC national lab for studying boiling phenomena and fluid dynamics of cryogenic fluids and boiling-induced noises.
The following skills/certifications/interests are relevant to the position:
- Interest in high-performance computing, fluid dynamics and multiphase flows
- A PhD degree in engineering (especially mechanical and aero) or related fields of mathematics and computational physics.
- Relevant previous research experience in multiphase flow simulations. Desirable research skills include C++ and Fortran programming skills, AMR method, and acoustic analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Track record of publications and the ability to work independently.
This is a multi-year appointment, with yearly renewal depending on performance. To apply, please submit the following to Dr. Kourosh Shoele (kshoele-at-fsu-dot-edu):
- A short cover letter describing your relevant experience, interests, and availability.
- A resume that includes a list of education, publications, and work experience.
- A list of two to three references.
Please include the phrase “PostDoc-Multiphase” in the subject line of the email.
