A Research Assistant is sought at The University of North Texas’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, which includes an innovative undergraduate program, a collaborative and research‐intensive M.S. program and Ph.D. with Biomedical Engineering track.
The Research Assistant will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Conducts various tests or experiments using established experimental procedures.
- Operates research instrumentation and equipment.
- Assists researchers in conducting phases of a research project.
- Makes and records observations and measurements.
- Prepares technical reports.
The BMEN Research Assistant, who will report directly to the Chair of the department, is expected to assist faculty, graduate and undergraduate researchers, and postdoctoral fellows with technical support for all BMEN laboratories, and research projects.
A B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Biology or related field is required.
The candidate must have strong communication skills and be knowledgeable of common laboratory tools and software. Experience with preparing all reagents for research, such as buffers and cultural media, data acquisition software, biomaterial characterization, as well as biological instrumentation, is desirable, as is experience with the design and outfitting of laboratory experiments.
