The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering (MBE) at Boise State University invites applications for an open-rank tenure/tenure-track faculty position (assistant, associate, or full professor). Applicants should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and to making significant contributions in research. Senior applicants should have an established track record of research, teaching, and external funding. Junior applicants should articulate a research program that has promise for external funding. Women, minorities and under-represented groups are highly encouraged to apply. All outstanding candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants working in the areas of:

  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Energy systems
  • Design and optimization
  • Controls and mechatronics
  • Thermal-fluid sciences
  • Biomedical

The Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Department at Boise State is enjoying unprecedented growth in both its research activity and educational programs. In addition to hosting a nationally acclaimed undergraduate program, Boise State is a Carnegie Doctoral Research University, and our faculty are successful in obtaining funding from a wide variety of sources including the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Energy. The MBE Department and College of Engineering offer multiple Master and PhD level degree programs.

Requirements: An earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required at the time of appointment.
