LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a specialization in computer engineering with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. 

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, computer architecture for AI, data centers, and emerging computation domains (e.g. quantum computing, biocomputing, etc.); computer hardware and systems security; AI and LLM reasoning for computer architecture, VLSI design, and EDA; intelligent IoT; embedded systems for AI, robotics, and other emerging applications; and emerging memory technologies.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field by the date of employment.

The individual hired will be expected to teach courses in electrical and computer engineering at the graduate and undergraduate level, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in departmental, college, and university service. The individual hired will develop strong research programs, contribute to our educational mission, complement our existing strengths, and collaborate effectively with colleagues. The successful candidate will be expected to aid our College’s mission to create a supportive community in which world-class faculty, staff, and students can thrive to their full potential.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has a long history of excellence in research and education. The department was established in 1883 as an Electrical Engineering program, one of the first in the U.S. The computer engineering component grew naturally from the strong Electrical Engineering base. In collaborative efforts that span the globe and with help from Lehigh's new Interdisciplinary Research Institutes and centers, Lehigh Electrical and Computer Engineering is making an impact on campus and all over the world. With support from government and industry, our department's research endeavors lead the way in national and global conversations in many topical areas.
