Work description

The primary objective of the work to be undertaken during this grant is to design new storage solutions that incorporates advanced encryption techniques, robust access control, and reliable data recovery mechanisms, ensuring data privacy, continuity, and integrity, even in the face of corruption attempts.

Beyond designing these critical components, they must be integrated into a proof-of-concept prototype, which will undergo experimental validation to assess its effectiveness. The experimental evaluation must also include profiling and diagnosis experiments to validate the correct execution of I/O operations.

The tasks described in this working plan demand the application and development of concepts and techniques in the area of Software Engineering, which are usually introduced in curricular units included in the curricula of the Mestrados Integrados em Engenharia Informática ou de Mestrado em Engenharia Informática studies.

 

Academic Qualifications

  • BSc Degree in Informatics Engineering Sciences.

 

Minimum profile required

  • Knowledge on operating systems;
  • Knowledge on storage system calls (POSIX interface);
  • Knowledge on ransomware attacks;
  • Experience with I/O diagnosing and profiling tools.

 

Preference factors

  • Experience with ransomware attack analysis and detection tools.
