The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. The position is with the University of Kentucky’s mechanical engineering program at the extended campus in Paducah, KY and is a 9-month appointment in the Special Title Series (tenure eligible). The College of Engineering administers ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree programs in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering at Paducah, with a total of nine full-time faculty.

Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and the motivation to sustain a program of independent research and scholarship through innovative educational activities, laboratory development, the direction of undergraduate and graduate research, and other independent and collaborative research endeavors. Research collaborations with local industry and faculty on the Lexington campus are encouraged. The anticipated start date is August 2023.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or closely related field). Candidates with specialties in all areas of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will be considered. Candidates with teaching interests in Thermal-fluids, Autonomy, Robotics, and/or Control Theory are encouraged to apply.
