The Mechanical Engineering Department at Seattle University invites applications for full-time one-year lecturer position beginning September 2022. Candidates with teaching experience and/or expertise in the areas of engineering mechanics, computer aided design, manufacturing, and/or engineering design are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring and will be committed to the mission of Seattle University. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring a capstone design team, and departmental service.
The Mechanical Engineering Department is housed within the College of Science and Engineering at Seattle University. The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree program is ABET accredited and supports the university’s mission of educating the whole person, professional formation, and empowering leaders for a just and humane world. The department also offers a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) degree program.
Minimum Qualifications: An M.S. in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline, college level teaching experience, and demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
