Two (2) PhD research assistant positions are available at the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment (Civil Engineering), University of Florida (https://www.essie.ufl.edu/), to work in the area of Virtual Reality and Automation in Construction. The expected start date is January 15, 2019. The student’s advisor will be Dr. Eric Jing Du. The work will be interdisciplinary by nature, spanning over infrastructure management, cognitive science, Building Information Modeling, and Virtual Reality.

Interests and experiences related to three or more of the following academic areas: 1) Virtual Reality (game engine development); 2) Computing (programming, automation, artificial intelligence); 3) Cognitive Science; 4) Statistics and mathematical modeling (machine learning); 5) Computer-Aided Design and computer graphics; 6) Database and information management; 7) Disaster reduction and risk communication.
