POSITION PURPOSE
A Level C academic is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a discipline, school, faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area. An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate units
2. Deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
3. Participate in collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence
4. Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the School through, for example, participation in committees
5. Contribute in course coordination and developing curriculum, course materials and learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate course/unit in which the academic teaches.
6. Provide feedback to students on their learning through student consultations
7. Undertake administrative responsibilities primarily connected with units in which the academic teaches including course review, admission and accreditation processes
8. Foster strong engagement with the profession, industry, professional bodies and general community
9. Contribute to the overall strategic planning and academic management of the School
10. Contribute to the development of other academic staff through mentoring, coaching and effectivesupervision
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification
2. Demonstrated experience in the development of curriculum content
3. A strong record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation.
4. Experience in working with partners in universities, government and/or civil society
5. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork
6. Demonstrated experience in working in relevant industries
7. A P.Eng with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) in the field of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering.
