The Department of Electrical Engineering (ELE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position, preferably at the assistant or associate professor level, commencing in Spring 2024. The successful candidate for the regular position will be expected to establish a high-level, active research program supported by internal and external funding sources. The visiting faculty position is primarily focused on teaching. The visiting position is a one-year renewable contract and the regular position is a three-year renewable contract.
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with preferably a focus in the area of control engineering and good hands-on experience. Expertise in the areas of robotics and automation, embedded systems, intelligent systems, cyber-physical systems and mechatronics is a plus.
The candidate should show evidence of excellence in teaching and research. In addition, experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
