Work description

1. Design of unit cells suitable for the multi-bit phase control, in the frequency range of 28 GHz, and subsequent validation in 3D electromagnetic simulation.
2. Development of unit cell prototypes, fabrication and experimental validation.
3. Scaling of the design to array configuration.
4. Prepare the submission of a scientific paper. 5. Write the grant activities report.

Minimum profile required

• First author of 1 scientific paper in the area of antenna design.
• Experience with the conduction of experimental antenna measurements.

Preference factors

• Experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation tools.
• Experience in the design of antenna arrays.

Maintenance stipend: € 1309,64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
