The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Michigan Technological University invites applications and nominations for a faculty position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level. We are seeking outstanding candidates who will add to our teaching and research strengths while inspiring the next generation of biomedical engineers.
As an Assistant Teaching Professor, you will:
- Teach undergraduate core courses in experimental laboratory techniques, biomaterials, biomechanics, and/or other BME core areas.
- Supervise senior design projects and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Assume a leadership role in designing curricula for undergraduate bioengineering courses.
- Support the general teaching mission of the department through innovative pedagogy, curriculum development, and professional engagement.
Assistant Teaching Professors are educational professionals who combine institutional excellence with professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity, including creative activity, especially as they relate to instruction and pedagogy. Assistant Teaching Professors at Michigan Tech are members of the senate, have full faculty privileges as described in the department charter and university handbook, and undergo assessments for promotion to Associate Teaching Professor. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for high-quality instruction, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
