The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) offers a full range of additive manufacturing services, from design and infrastructure to production and validation. With advanced technologies such as topology optimization, generative design, and bioinspired design, SC3DP creates optimized products using a variety of novel materials and printing processes, including hybrid printing, post-processing, and emerging technologies. Sustainability is a top priority for SC3DP, which offers material development and control services that combine artificial intelligence, big data, and other digital tools for process optimization, as well as non-destructive testing for AM parts. Backed by a team of experts and a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest equipment and technologies, SC3DP is committed to leading the way in sustainable additive manufacturing research and development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform development activities related to additive manufacturing for a combinatorial study

  • Prepare technical reports, journal papers and liaise with collaborators

  • Collaborate with industrial partners to commercialize and spin out technology platforms

  • Research design and deploy industrial demonstrator

  • Manage and deliver project KPIs and objectives

  • Ensure milestone delivery  according to plan/schedule, manage/control project risks & mitigating actions

  • Prepare/consolidate periodic reports (finance, technical) as required

  • Manage project documentation, knowledge/data capture and reporting

  • Manage logistical issues and laboratory inventory

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of the research work

 

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or closely related discipline

  • Strong expertise in relevant knowledge domains and familiar with processing, characterization and property evaluation of magnetic materials

  • Knowledge of synthesis, characterization and property evaluation of high-performance materials

  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies

  • Energetic and self-motivated

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a diverse, interdisciplinary research environment

  • Experience in schedule and resource planning

  • Ability to work well with multiple competing priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives

  • Evidence of research output, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong record of scientific/industrial impact within a composites/materials/engineering sector
