About the job

We are seeking several skilled Research Assistants or Post-Doctoral Fellows to join our team. The selected candidates will engage in projects funded by the Research Talent Hub (RTH) and will collaborate with a dynamic team of researchers, offering excellent opportunities for career growth. Strong coding, modeling, and communication skills are essential.

Areas of Interest

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following fields:

  1. Computer Vision: Knowledge of computer vision and image processing applied to water resources. Experience in image and signal processing.
  2. Remote Sensing: Experience in software and hardware development related to water resources. Familiarity with tools like ArcGIS and Google Earth is a plus.
  3. Water-food-energy Nexus: Familiarity with the interconnectedness of these critical areas, emphasizing sustainable resource management.
  4. Hydrologic Modeling: Strong knowledge of hydrologic modeling, particularly with WRF-Hydro and the National Water Model. Familiarity with the NextGen framework as well as knowledge of climate and water resources in arid and semi-arid regions is a plus.

 

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background: PhD degree (for postdoc position or RA) or MPhil/Master's degree (for RA) in relevant fields such as Water Resources, Hydraulics, Remote sensing, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical/Robotics Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. PhD or MPhil student positions may be considered depending on the applicant's background.
  2. Language and Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written English skills are essential as you will be working with multicultural teams. The ability to engage effectively and respectfully in communication at all levels is a key requirement.
