Physics Tenure/Tenure-Track Position

Louisiana Tech University invites applications for one or more tenure/tenure-track faculty positions in physics. Louisiana Tech University has active research in the areas of particle and nuclear physics, materials sciences, nanoscience, and biophysics, but candidates in other areas of research with sufficient overlap will also be considered.

Louisiana Tech offers a B.S. in physics and M.S. in applied physics and has two Ph.D. degrees available for physics students: The Engineering Physics track in the interdisciplinary Engineering Ph.D., and the Ph.D. in Computational Analysis & Modeling. Louisiana Tech University is a US News Tier 1 National University with an enrollment of about 12,000 students, and is the leading research university in northern Louisiana, possessing world-class resources for the realization of commercially viable micro-and nanosystems. The physics faculty have research areas with close collaboration with other universities and national labs as well as strong international collaborations. Qualifications include the ability to initiate, build and sustain a strong externally funded research program, the ability to supervise masters and doctoral students, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, a commitment to high-quality professional service and active participation in college responsibilities. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in physics or a closely related field.
