The Department of Biomedical Engineering, a multidisciplinary unit formed by the University at Buffalo’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, invites applications for NIH-funded postdoctoral researchers and PhD student positions in the Laboratory of Advanced Biomedical Imaging, a multidisciplinary research center in biomedical imaging at UB.
Duties include the development of parallel imaging and compressed sensing based fast imaging technology and machine learning in imaging reconstruction, and the development of MR signal excitation and reception devices and related high frequency hardware, or development of ultra-short TE (UTE) and zero-TE (ZTE) MR imaging sequence for human connective tissues. Strong computer skills, electromagnetic field simulation and RF hardware design experience, and compressed sensing or parallel imaging algorithm/recon fluency will be essential. Technical writing/presentation skills are a must.
Applicant must hold a PhD degree and training or experience in one or more of the following areas: UTE/ZTE pulse sequence design, high resolution imaging, or machine learning.
Successful applicants must be motivated to conduct MR research and capable of working independently.
Familiarity with diverse computer operating systems and design-related software, such as AUTOCAD, Solidworks, C/C++, Matlab.
