Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow opening with Prof. Anson Ma of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department and the Institute of Materials Science (IMS) at the University of Connecticut (UConn). Ma’s group focuses on advancing inkjet and 3D printing technologies through fundamental science. Exceptional candidates will also be considered for the position of UConn Site Program Manager with the National Science Foundation (NSF) SHAP3D Center for Additive Manufacturing – a joint partnership between UConn, UMass Lowell, and Georgia Tech.

(1) To perform rheological and 3D printing experiments related to food, pharmaceutical, and personal care applications.
(2) To train and supervise graduate and undergraduate students;
(3) To liaise with industry sponsors and ensure successful project completion;
Required Qualifications: PhD in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline. Prior research experience with experimental rheology and 3D printing (especially binder jetting and extrusion).
Compensation commensurate with experience.
