The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. The research fellow will work in the field of civil engineering with Asst Prof. Kim, Gun.

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join our team as Research Fellow in Civil Engineering field.

The position is in civil engineering and will focus on nondestructive evaluation, wave field modeling, and AI for the smart maintenance of civil infrastructure systems. The position is also aimed to assist the development of advanced nondestructive evaluation for civil infrastructural systems: experiments, data collection, simulations, and proposal, for construction. It will eventually contribute to infrastructure safety in Singapore.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect data and signal processing

  • Assist both lab and field tests of Key responsibility 4 (Write proposals for further development)

  • Publish papers in top journals

  • Write proposals for further development

  • Mentor students

 

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanics, and Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experiences in nondestructive evaluation, ultrasound / technical hands-on experience in numerical simulation of wave field

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent skills for data analytics, signal processing, wave fields generation

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders

  • A good record of referred journal publications or conference presentations is a plus
