Work description

• To develop competences in the area of microgrids by reviewing state-of-the-art related to the operation of microgrids and the operation of hybrid storage systems;
• Support the development and consolidation of the laboratory test system for the AC/DC microgrid;
• Support the development and integration of an energy storage system in the laboratory, considering integration not only with the laboratory's electrical infrastructure, but also with the real-time simulation system and the laboratory's monitoring and control system.

Minimum profile required

• Knowledge in energy storage technologies;
• Academic expertise in power electronics;
• Knowledge of programming (Python and C++).

Preference factors

• Knowledge of control strategies;
• Expertise in managing battery charging and discharging processes;
• Knowledge of the use of current and voltage sensors;
• Knowledge of the use of microcontrollers;
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
