JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
One-year appointment as a non-tenure track faculty member in the Operations and Industrial Engineering (OIE) discipline within The Business School for the purpose of sabbatical coverage. Assignment includes a six-course teaching load and service commensurate with maintaining AACSB "participating faculty" guidelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Nine-month non-tenure track faculty appointment for one year beginning in August 2024 and ending in May 2025.
  • Six-course teaching load; may be done at the undergraduate or graduate level depending on the needs of the Department. Topical areas may include operations and supply chain management, discrete event simulation, introductory optimization, and risk and decision analysis.
  • To meet requirements for participating faculty', engaging in student and operational activities is expected (including curriculum development, learning assessment, faculty or student orientation, school department meetings and retreats, faculty mentoring, and/or school strategic planning).
  • Completion of the Faculty Annual Review Process, including data entry in Watermark Faculty Success and Workday.
  • This position is in the Department Head's supervisory chain and collaboration is expected with faculty in the OIE discipline, other disciplines within The Business School, and faculty within other Departments.
  • The person in this position is expected to participate in the New Faculty Orientation provided by the University in August 2024.
  • An office within The Business School and necessary information technology equipment will be provided.



Qualifications:

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. (for an Assistant Teaching Professor) or an MS with significant work experience (for an Instructor). At least one degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) should be in Industrial Engineering (IE) or a related field. College-level teaching experience is especially valued, including project-based learning, case-based teaching, and online teaching.
