Job Description Summary
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor. This position is a 12-month non-tenure track faculty assignment within the Auburn University research faculty family. Applications are invited from individuals with expertise in flight test engineering and flight mechanics, controls and design. The selected individual will have a one-year written employment contract, which may be renewed for future years based on need, availability of funding, and performance. The total term of employment will not exceed the period of available funding from contract and grant, generated income, or other designated funds. Candidates will be expected to fully contribute to the department’s research mission through the development of a strong, nationally recognized, funded research program and professional service. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of scholarship, a creative vision for research, and strong communication skills. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field at the time of employment.

The selected candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
