Position Summary: Oregon Tech’s Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Technology (MMET) department seeks applicants for a full-time (nine-month), multi-year, renewable position to start in September 2019. This appointment would be at the instructor level.
The primary focus for this position is the instruction of students in our ABET-accredited BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology and BS Manufacturing Engineering Technology degree programs. Candidates must have a strong desire to teach, must advise SAE student club for competition, and must be able to teach a broad of range of courses offered in the MMET from Introduction to Engineering through to upper-division courses and capstone projects; and (potentially) graduate-level courses.
At this time, we are particularly interested in candidates who are able to develop course materials, develop labs, and teach classes in one or more of the following areas:
• Manufacturing & Planning • Manufacturing Tool Design
We also place a high premium on practical skills and industrial experience that can be used to enhance student learning. This focus on real-world applications is one key reason why students choose Oregon Tech, and why they are successful in their careers once they graduate. Candidates must also be prepared to take a proactive role in student advising.
Professional development might include (but is not limited to) the publication of scholarly works, applied research, collaboration with industrial partners, or grant writing. Institutional service may include serving on university committees, and participation in departmental initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or a closely-related field.
- SAE Baja Car or Formula Car competition and advising experiences.
- A minimum of 3 years of related industrial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a field related to Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

Applications are exclusively accepted via the Oregon Tech Job Board.
