Job Description Summary
The Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering department is seeking Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor or Assistant/Associate Lecturer for its growing engineering programs, including Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing, to teach undergraduate and graduate level engineering courses; advise students; maintain an active research agenda and provide service to the department and university. The start date is August 2026.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: For appointment as an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial and Systems Engineering, a closely related field by date of appointment (ABDs may apply, but the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment). For an appointment as an Assistant or Associate Lecturer, applicants must have a Master's in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a closely related field by date of appointment. Appointment to the rank of Associate level requires an established record of high-quality teaching and service.
Consideration may be given to candidates with teaching and/or industry experience to support the curriculum of the department's mechanical engineering, smart manufacturing engineering, and engineering management programs. Additional qualifications include teaching, industrial and/or post-doctoral experience or a record of grant funding and scholarly publications.
