Established in 1981, the SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (EEE) http://www.eee.ntu.edu.sg is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. The research staff will be responsible for developing finite element computer models for different track forms on mass rapid transit (MRT) system for vibration analysis. The job scope will include deriving, both analytically and experimentally, the vibration characteristics of existing and new track forms, in terms of natural frequencies, modes of vibration, frequency response and modal properties. Track forms include running rails, power rails and foundation. The job scope will also include running simulation studies to validate results with actual site measurements, and to predict the dynamic behaviour of the trackform.
Apart from working on technical aspects of research projects, the R&D engineer will also take charge of general matters for the project, including data management and project documentation, writing project updates, and doing product demonstrations and presentations.
