The group of Associate Prof. Eleni Kyriakidou at the
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo is looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to develop novel catalytic materials with enhanced low-temperature activity and durability at high temperatures related to catalytic transformations for the control of methane emissions in the atmosphere.
The research will focus on applying fundamental principles to industrially-relevant systems, and will require the development of zeolite-based catalysts.
Responsibilities will include:
- The post-doctoral scholar will synthesize zeolite-based catalysts, characterize them, and elucidate their structure-property relationships under industrially relevant conditions.
- Mentor and collaborate with undergraduate/MS students and PhD candidates on research.
- Write quarterly scientific reports and manuscripts to be published in peer reviewed scientific journals
- Give annual scientific presentations to nationwide catalysis and emission control conferences
The research involves collaboration with MAHLE Powertrain and Oak Ridge National Laboratory through a ARPA-E REMEDY project.
