The successful candidate is expected to 1) teach undergraduate laboratory courses and develop new laboratory experiments, 2) provide lab training to students on proper safety and use of lab equipment and oversee all department lab safety, 3) perform small repairs on equipment and coordinate major repairs of lab equipment, 4) maintain inventory of lab tools, materials and equipment and be responsible for annual audits of inventory, 5) develop and maintain plan for the growth of lab capabilities and maintain equipment calibration records, 6) purchase lab tools, equipment and materials, 7) train graduate teaching assistants for lab courses, 8) serve on department committees, 9) other duties may include collaboration with faculty in preparation of proposals, participation in campus student recruitment activities, mentoring of students and assisting with open houses or lab tours. Required Qualifications: 1) Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2) Experience in laboratory experiments in Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields, 3) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, 4) Computer – data acquisition, Microsoft word, excel, power point, outlook working knowledge and 5) Accuracy in maintaining safe working conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) experience in teaching other undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, 2) experience in maintaining laboratory equipment and 3) experience with matlab software and national instruments equipment.
