    Job Description

    The Architectural Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Construction Management/Construction Project Management. Qualified candidates for assistant professor/associate professor will be considered at a rank commensurate with qualifications, academic accomplishments, and experience. We seek a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in the following areas:


    • Construction management/Construction Project Management


    • Information and Communication Technologies (i.e. BIM, Digital Twins, VR)


    • Advanced digital engineering


    • Building Construction Other sub-areas of expertise within these general areas will also be considered.


    The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, will publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will have access to advanced laboratory facilities, opportunities for internal research funding, and collaboration with Centers of Excellence. UAEU is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, statements of current and future research, and teaching philosophies. English is the language of instruction and communication. The start date for this position is August 2024. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.


    Minimum Qualification

    Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline from an internationally recognized university focusing on advanced research in construction management. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to those with professional experience and relevant university teaching and research experience in academic environments where English is the medium of instruction and protocol. Affiliation and membership with relevant professional bodies are desirable.


    Preferred Qualification

    Tertiary qualifications in Architectural Engineering or equivalent with wide interest and demonstrated competence in construction management and a range of digital technologies in the related field. Experience in subject coordination and curriculum development in the broad discipline of construction project management. Professional/industry experience in the specified or related field including eligibility for membership in any construction management-related professional body (i.e. CIOB, RICS, APM, PMP). Preference will be given to candidates with a sound research track record and demonstrated teaching experience at a reputable higher education institution.


    Expected Skills

    Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals, and build reputation nationally and internationally to promote UAEU’s international reputation. Dedication to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in Architectural Engineering / Construction management. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Experience in/strong commitment to engineering education including but are not limited to, curriculum, and pedagogical approaches development.
