    We are now looking for a

    [b]Postdoctoral researcher in the field of Plant design research group[/b]

    to carry out research under the topic of [i]Development and assessment of sustainable production processes.[/i] Our laboratory is situated on the main campus of Aalto University in Otaniemi.

    We offer a multidisciplinary research environment and staff and well-equipped laboratory. The group’s research interests include: process design and synthesis for bio-based processes, cost engineering, scale-up of processes, process simulation and environmental and safety aspects of process design.     [b]Your experience and ambitions[/b]
    As a successful applicant you should be highly motivated in process research, development and design and have a solid background in chemical and process engineering. Industrial experience is highly appreciated and fluent skills in the English language is required. A doctoral degree (PhD) in the area of chemical or process engineering is required.

    [b]Your role and goals[/b]
    Your work will will be a notable part in some existing plant design projects where process design, scale-up, experimental work, and assessment of technology is included. Moreover, you will be participating in teaching or as advisor in student projects.

    [url=https://www.aalto.fi/en/department-of-chemical-and-metallurgical-engineering/plant-design]Plant design group[/url] led by Prof. Pekka Oinas combines fundamental chemical engineering principles with process design approaches to develop and utilize methods for techno-economic assessment applicable in all areas of chemical process industry.

    The unique competitive edge of the [url=https://www.aalto.fi/en/department-of-chemical-and-metallurgical-engineering]Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering[/url]  in the School of Chemical Engineering is based on sustainable utilization of raw materials, designing more efficient processes and developing new materials and products. Our department’s areas of expertise enable sustainable future with high performance products and processes in circular economy and bioeconomy. The department is in a key position in research of chemical engineering, materials technology, metals processing, efficient energy technologies and digitalization of these. Our core competences include unit operations and processes in chemical engineering, hydro- and pyro-metallurgy, catalyst and polymeric materials, novel catalytic process, process control and process systems engineering.

    The postdoctoral researcher position will be filled for 2 year. The employment contract includes occupational health care benefits and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.
