    The J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering, with the College of Engineering, at the Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured assistant/associate/full professor-level position with a nine-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon the need and availability of funds, beginning Fall 2025. The department will consider individuals with demonstrated expertise and experience in transport phenomena in biomedical systems; biophotonics; design and advanced manufacturing of medical technologies; surgical and/or therapeutic robotics, including enhanced human performance and rehabilitative technologies; wearable or implantable sensors and energy sources; computational modeling of biocompatible materials; and healthcare AI.


    The successful applicants will be required to teach, advise, and mentor graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, participate in all aspects of the department’s activities, and serve the profession.
