The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AAE) at Purdue University invites applications for multiple tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor from candidates whose interests and expertise from any area of aerospace engineering that align with the School’s themes of (i) safe, sustainable air transportation; (ii) access to, working in, and exploring space; (iii) maintaining national defense and security; and (iv) enabling new opportunities through aerospace.
For this search, we are particularly interested in candidates whose research will support advances in and make fundamental contributions to the first two themes. Candidates interested in joining AAE and whose advances and contributions would contribute to theme (iii) are encouraged to apply to the Defense Innovation Open Search (requisition 33837) at Purdue College of Engineering.
Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline by the employment start date and demonstrate potential to build an independent research program at the forefront of aerospace engineering, as well as potential to educate and mentor students. The successful candidate will conduct original research, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and perform service at the School, College, and University levels.
