  • Graduate Research Assistant

    The Center for Transportation Innovation, Education, and Research (C-Tier) at the University of Memphis is seeking highly motivated graduate students to join our research team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the field of transportation systems, traffic operations, safety analysis, and intelligent transportation technologies.


    Responsibilities:



    • Conduct research on topics related to traffic safety, transportation systems engineering, driver behavior modeling, and intelligent transportation systems.

    • Collect and analyze data using advanced statistical and machine learning tools.

    • Develop and validate models for traffic safety and operational performance.

    • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, research papers, and presentations for conferences.

    • Assist in grant proposal writing and project management.

    • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and industry partners to solve real-world transportation problems.


    Qualifications:



    • Must be enrolled or accepted into a graduate program at the University of Memphis in Civil Engineering or a related field.

    • Strong academic background in transportation engineering, traffic operations, or related areas.

    • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, or MATLAB) and data analysis tools (ArcGIS, QGIS).

    • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling is a plus.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
