    Job Description


    The Department of Engineering Technology at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer position in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or closely related field. This one-year appointment will commence in Fall 2023 and can be renewed for up to 3 years, contingent upon funding and performance.

    This position will be based out of the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research in Danville, VA.


    Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities


    The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in one or more of the following areas: computer numerical controls, machining, advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, industrial robotics, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing, quality systems, and similar courses. In addition to this the candidate will be expected to advise senior design capstone projects in their area of expertise.

     


    Minimum Qualifications - Education or training


    A M.S. or Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field is required by the expected date of hire.
