    Job Description


    The Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) at Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applications for a 10-month tenure track/tenured appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to begin in Fall 2024. We seek exceptional candidates with strong research track in Cybersecurity. This position is open to candidates from all engineering disciplines in any of the academic departments in the BCET. The appointment will be in one of the five BCET departments depending on the selected candidate’s background and expertise. Exceptional candidates may request tenure upon appointment.


    This position will build, direct, and run multidisciplinary research teams in BCET in collaboration with the School of Cybersecurity and develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in live and on-line environment in the home BCET department and in collaboration with the School of Cybersecurity. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their field (2/2 teach load) and perform research and service.

    Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities


    The successful candidate must demonstrated a passion for student success, recruitment, and retention, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.

    Assistant Professor candidates must demonstrate an ability to establish an externally funded research program.


    Associate and Full Professor candidates must have a strong research record in cybersecurity systems, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and a sustained stream of externally funded multidisciplinary research projects.

     


    Minimum Qualifications - Education or training


    A doctoral degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related Engineering field by the end of May 2
