Established in 1980, the College of Engineering offers programs in the fields of Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering and Computer Science with the primary goal of preparing Qatari engineers with outstanding scientific and technical competencies to enable them to participate and to contribute in the various developmental aspects of the country. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering utilizes standard and advanced teaching and learning tools and well-equipped laboratories. The ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program meets the standards and quality needed by the civil engineering profession.
Position Summary
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has an opening in the area of Transportation Engineering Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Traffic Operations, Traffic Safety Analysis, Traffic Simulation, and Transportation Planning The applicant should have a track record in collaborating or working with the industry through practical projects such as Traffic Impact studies, Traffic simulation modelling, and Traffic Safety studies
The applicant should have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointed candidate will complement the existing faculty in the department and will develop and sustain funded research programs and publish in leading journals.
The highly competitive employment package is commensurate with experience and rank. Qualifications :
The successful candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from a prestigious university. They should also have expertise in the relevant areas and a track record of scholarly activities in the field. English language is essential. Candidates with industrial experience will be looked at favorably. Experience in managing research projects and/or professional practices will also be advantageous.
