    The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is located in Johannesburg, South Africa, the economic and industrial
    heartland of the African continent, and has for about 100 years, been home to many internationally recognized academics
    and produced graduates who have made tremendous contributions to the engineering profession.

    The School invites applications for the permanent position of Lecturer in Environmental Engineering.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
    A Doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field will be advantageous. Consideration
    will be given to exceptional applicants with either a Masters degree or are currently completing their Masters degree and show
    great potential in pursuing a Doctoral degree in environmental engineering. If appointable, a candidate who has not completed
    their Masters degree shall only take up the position upon confirmation of the qualification. A Bachelors degree in Civil
    Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering field is essential. The successful candidate will have a research
    interest or experience in Environmental Engineering. Evidence of teaching and research is essential. Professional registration or
    eligibility for professional registration is essential.


    DUTIES: Commensurate with the rank of appointment, the successful applicants will be expected to teach discipline-related
    engineering courses as well as other basic civil engineering topics at undergraduate level, participate in academic administration,
    supervise the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students and lead a postgraduate coursework programme and
    develop a productive research programme.
