Position Details
The Ashraf lab at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking multiple post-doctoral research associates with a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or other closely related disciplines including material science, chemistry, and chemical engineering. The post-doctoral research associate will work with Dr. Warda Ashraf on multiple federal and state-funded research projects. Visit www.ashraf-lab.com to learn more about our research.
The post-doctoral position will start as early as July 2024. The initial appointment will be for one year and can be extended based on mutual agreement.
Research Areas:
CO2 mineralization in alkaline waste and (ii) Rheological properties of cementitious materials.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field with research experience on cementitious materials Proven record of research accomplishments through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national/ international conferences Strong fundamental understanding of various low-carbon cementitious materials Experimental skill in processing/characterizations of cementitious materials (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, etc.) Ability to work in a team environment with strict deadlines Oral and written communication skills in English, and self-motivation with strong work ethics Responsibilities
Design and conduct nano/micro-scale experimental investigations on low-carbon cementitious materials. Analyze data, prepare project reports, and draft high-quality scientific publications. Present project updates to the federal sponsors regularly.
